For the last 24 years I’ve been…dabbling…in jewellery making, and last year I realised, hey, I can write a book about jewellery.
Now for the last few years people have produced books and had quite a bit of success doing so, and I realised last year that as a jewellery designer I could write a book about the thing that I love most and am actually good at so I could release a book too and do it under my own name.
Hence the e-book. It’s an e-book as that was the easiest way to do it at this stage but other formats of e-books, as in Kindle, epub etc will come when I have it properly formatted for Kindle and Smashwords.
Smashwords is a fantastic website and I’ve been a member under my nom de plume since 2011. It’s a distributer of electronic books and converts your word doc book into all sorts of formats and then sends it off to iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Diesel, Kobo, Baker & Taylor’s Blio and Axis, Oyster, Flipkart and many others.
Kindle, as we all know will be available through Amazon which also uses CreateSpace for self-publishing print books. The print versions of my books, especially How To Be A Jewel Diva, will definitely be available by the end of the year. It’s going to take some expert formatting that I’m not experienced at and hopefully it will be a bigger and better version.
I decided to write under my own name and release books on subjects I know about because it’s been five years since my businesses have been going. Five years that they’ve had the chance to grow into the businesses they are. It was time to take the next step and this was it.
Next step is onward and upward.
Good for you; lots of luck!
