Agatha Christie’s Poirot has come to an end

On Saturday night here in Aus, Agatha Christie’s Poirot, with David Suchet, came to an end.

How do I know that?

They killed off Poirot!

The amount of times I saw re-makes and new shows which were actually old shows in disguise always made me think they started making this show way back in the 70s as they had that low tech old school style and look to them.

But alas, the show only started in 1989, something I did not know.

And now, the little Belgian man with the little grey cells, has now bid adieu to his audience with Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case. And I will freely admit I shed a few tears at the end.

The only way to bring this show back, as they have done with Miss Marple, is to replace the actor or start anew with younger actors, hence, a younger Poirot. I somehow don’t think it will be the same without David Suchet, who strangely appeared as Inspector Japp in the 1985 Poirot movie, Thirteen at Dinner, starring Peter Ustinov as Poirot, who wasn’t that good.
I don’t know if we’ll get repeats now but it won’t be the same.
