Every year, at this time, I do my yearly audit. When I tell you how much I threw out, how much I bought, and how much I recycled, plus numbers for how much and its worth. The thing is… I don’t actually know this year.
What I mean by that is, I forgot to keep the numbers for the audit, so I actually don’t know how much I threw out. I can say this though, over the Xmas period I didn’t buy any clothes, and only a few accessories, amongst other goodies I’ll show off throughout the year.
I did redo the paperwork, though, and laid out pages for keyrings, and watches as I bought quite a few Swatches last year.
So, this is going to be a short post.
I can tell you, as of December 31st, 2023 I had this much after the audit…
640 items of clothing.
74 pieces of real silver, 24 pieces of real gold, and 2 real pearl bracelets.
1912 pieces of costume jewellery, although a pair of earrings is missing a rather large stone, so not sure what I’m going to do with those.
78 gold brooches, and 45 silver.
37 watches and 4 bands.
485 accessories (belts, shoes, bags, etc.)
101 keyrings.
My collection has now long surpassed the five zero mark in dollars, mainly consisting of shoes, bags, kaftans, kimonos and jewellery, regardless of how much I get second-hand or on sale. But it’s a collection that’s been growing since the 80s, so it’s a work in progress and will no doubt grow in the coming years.
