I watched a documentary last month called Three Identical Strangers. The bizarre story of Edward Galland, David Kellman, and Robert Shafran, and how they were adopted out as infants by separate families in 1963 only to find each other nineteen years later.
What came from that reunion has left horror in its wake.
According to Wikipedia: It recounts how the brothers discovered one another by chance in New York in 1980 at age 19, their public and private lives in the years that followed, and their eventual discovery that their adoption had been part of an undisclosed scientific “nature versus nurture” study of the development of genetically identical siblings raised in differing socioeconomic circumstances.
The brothers found they had the same taste in food, smoked the same brand of cigarettes, all wrestled in high school, and all had showed signs of separation anxiety as children. They became a media sensation, appeared on talk shows, and celebrated their newfound brotherhood by moving in together and opening a restaurant called Triplets. They even appered briefly in Madonna’s Desperately Seeking Susan.
Wikipedia: Each of the boys had been involved as children in a study by psychiatrist Peter B. Neubauer under the auspices of the Jewish Board of Guardians, which involved periodic home visits and evaluations, the true intent of which never was explained to the adoptive parents. Following the discovery that the boys were triplets, the parents sought more information from the Louise Wise adoption agency, which claimed that they had separated the boys because of the difficulty of placing triplets in a single household. Upon further investigation, however, it was revealed that the infants had been intentionally separated and placed with families having different parenting styles and economic levels—one blue-collar, one middle-class, and one affluent—as an experiment on human subjects.
Peter Bela Neubauer was an Austrian-born American child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst.
Wikipedia: The Neubauer family was part of a small Jewish community in Krems an der Donau, Austria, where Peter was born on July 5, 1913. He received his medical training at the University of Vienna and the University of Bern, in Switzerland, to which he escaped during the Nazi control of Austria. He completed his psychiatric training in Bern in 1941 and then immigrated to New York.
Neubauer’s published books include Nature’s Thumbprint: The New Genetics of Personality, which includes some discussion of his controversial long-term study of adoptive Jewish twins (at least five sets) and triplets (one set) separated during infancy.
When the revelations came out, they led to controversy, anger, and ethical comparisons with notorious twin experiments by the same Nazi regime that Neubauer had escaped. Some of the subjects of Neubauer’s twin study have sought records, apologies and compensation from the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, which inherited Neubauer’s study records. At least three of the separated siblings apparently died by suicide.
At the conclusion of the study in 1980, Neubauer reportedly feared that public opinion would be against the study, and declined to publish it. The records of the study are sealed at the Yale University Library until October 25, 2065, although by 2018, some 10,000 pages had been released but were heavily redacted and inconclusive.
It’s a sad story that so many had to go through this. Not just the twins and triplets, but their biological and adoptive families. But what pissed me off by the end of it was the fact that the psychiatrist, Peter Bela Neubauer, was no better than the Nazis he’d escaped from.
He escaped to Switzerland when the Nazis had control of Austria and finished his training. As a Jew, he was damn lucky to escape the horror of what Hitler did to them, but here he is, in the good old country of America, doing the exact same Nazi bullshit to babies and families. What sort of sick fuck was he? And for the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services to not only fund this shit at the time, but to keep on supporting it all these decades and then keep the records from the twins and triplets who suffered through it shows what arseholes they are for allowing it against their own people after bleating on about Hitler killing millions of them. And with the current rate of Jew hating going on in the world because of Israel, Gaza, and Palestine, they really shouldn’t be fucking over their own people. In fact, they never should have fucked over their own people, but then I guess they’re no better than the rest of us who get fucked over by doctors, parents, families, and other people in our lives on a regular basis.
Sadly, Eddie took his own life in 1995, after suffering bi-polar, as many of them discovered mental illness ran in their blood, and that was one of the criteria, it seems, that the experiments took delight in.
So, if you’re after a good documentary to watch, give this a go. It debuted in 2018 and I watched it on Netflix.
