The last few years has seen a rise in the sales of books, especially from self-published authors, mainly thanks to TikTok which is not just for teens to dance and lip sync. Which I do a bit of myself.
In 2021 the Facebook author groups I’m a member of started asking about TT, and whether it would be good as a platform for authors. The group made a course about it, and thankfully I got it for free thanks to buying previous courses from them.
In January, I downloaded the app to see what it was like, saw several people I don’t like on there and thought, “who the fuck are they to have an account and not me”, so signed up immediately. The course became available in early March and that’s when I binged it to learn all about the app. I had several thoughts about what I would post and how to do it, and then started filming videos. By the time I started uploading I had four weeks worth in draft mode.
What I chose to do was post three 15 second videos on Monday.
