The end of an era for my favourite clothing label, Millers

Over the last few years, many women’s clothing stores have closed down, thanks to the business fuckery of Mosaic.

Thanks to their exhorbitant prices, they went out of business due to the last 5-10 years of people being unable to afford expensive clothing, and cheaper brands like Temu, Shein and Uniqlo coming through. But still…

Mosaic owned many a clothing brand, from my favourite Millers, to Katies, Crossroads, Autograph, Rockmans, Noni B, BeMe, Rivers, and W Lane.

All have gone out of business and closed down thanks to Mosaic.

Crossroads closed a good three or more years ago, Rockmans went the same way, followed last year by Noni, and this year Katies, Rivers and now, Millers.

As you would know from my clothing posts here over the years, I’ve bought many an item from Millers. They’re inexpensive, when getting on sale, were bright and colourful, and called to my creative clothing style and personality.

I also have a few Crossroads tops from over the years, but rarely bought from Rivers, only bought once or twice from Katies and Rockmans.

Now, I’ll have to find the brands on eBay, or in the ops shops, as, for some reason, many women drop off Millers clothing. And, since I’ve lost so much weight, I’ll be able to fit into smaller sizes.

So, without further ado, here are my bargains from the last couple of months, all from Millers, but, since they were used as a dumping ground, I ended up with the other brands as well.

Earrings, down to $5 each.

LEFT: I bought this top months ago on sale for $26.

RIGHT: I got this a couple of weeks ago for $12. I waited for it to be marked down more.

LEFT: The star top is from Rivers, and I bought two. $10 each.

RIGHT: The tank is glittery and from Rockmans for $12.

LEFT: Grabbed these size 14 red 3/4 culottes for $12. Originally selling for $89.99 at Katies.

RIGHT: These pants are Rockmans brand and I bought them for $12, down from $79.99

It’s incredibly unflortunate when companies and brands you love disappear. Have you guys bought out a store that was closing? Did you spend up when a brand went out of business?

Let me know.
