It’s time for my yearly audit, when I tell you how much I threw out, how much I bought, and how much I recycled, plus numbers for how much and its worth.
I do like having a clear out at the end of every year. It refreshes the closet/wardrobe for the new goodies you’re going to buy in the coming year.
Last year was a year for buying jewellery. A seller on eBay was selling off her designer pieces and I bought a good 60+ spending a good $1100 on it.
I bought a couple of Swatches, some shoes, and a couple of bags through the year, and then clothing during December, also from eBay.
I can tell you, as of December 31st, 2024 I have this much after the audit…
643 pieces of clothing, up three from last year’s total.
Surprisingly, it seems like I only bought three more pieces, but it works out like this. I bought 15 pieces, but threw out 12.
For accessories, I threw out 18 pieces and bought 9.
For jewellery, I threw out 4 from my personal collection, namely bangles that no longer fit over my arthritic hands, but many bits and pieces (two zip bags full) from my craft kits. I bought 93.
Yeah, that’s a lot.
In total, my clothing, jewellery, and accessories collection is 2391 pieces.
Early last year in my audit, I said that my collection had long surpassed the five zero mark in dollars. This year, it’s gone up a little to the 58 and a half. That was the influx of jewellery, and clothing in the last dash for Chrissie bargains.
It’s a collection that’s been growing since the 80s, and will no doubt grow in the coming years.
What did you guys collect over the last few months?
I bought a thermal shirt and tights, and a few paris of socks, plus three shirts from an op-shop. I’ve cut right back on buying clothing and such for economic reasons.
I definitely buy less each year, and now that Millers is shutting down, I’ll be in the op shops even more.
